Northern College is seeking a Library Technician in our Learning Resources Centre at the Haileybury Campus. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, research, and organizational skills. Proficiency with computer software, such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, management information systems and leaning management systems (i.e. Blackboard, D2L, Moodle, etc.) is also required.

Reporting to the Dean, Learning Excellence and Innovation Department, the successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership and efficient operation of the Haileybury Campus Learning Resource Centre (LRC), the partnership with the City of Timiskaming Shores and the Timiskaming Shores Public Library, as well as college and community bookings and the rental of facilities for the Haileybury Campus.
What you will be doing:
- Promoting, demonstrating and using digital resources;
- Responsible for circulation, acquisitions, cataloguing, interlibrary loans, reference and research assistance, as well as audio visual services and student computer lab; and
- Supporting the Student Success Centre and coordinating information management functions for the LRC team for collection development and renewal projects.

What you will need to be considered:
- 2-year diploma in Library Technician or Information Techniques program or a related equivalent;
- 5 years related experience in a library technician or related position (media centre technician, etc.) with technical services performing derived or descriptive cataloguing and MARC format.
The incumbent may be required to provide a criminal reference check.
