Northern College is seeking a Professor, Nursing in our School of Health Sciences and Emergency Services department. The successful candidate will be a knowledgeable and approachable team member with a commitment to excellence in Health Sciences education and student success, be committed to supporting student success, and play a role in supporting ongoing research and scholarship. A PhD in Nursing and/or Ph D in Science with experience in an acute setting is preferred. Also preferred is valid Certification in ACLS, ATLS, PALS and NRP, knowledge or experience with CASN/CNO accreditation processes, certification/training/professional development with simulation in a teaching environment, teaching experience using a variety of modes of delivery (video, web-based, etc.) and methodologies, experience with NCLEX structure and teaching preparation requirements, and lastly, experience in Nursing/Science/ Healthcare related research/scholarship.

Reporting to the Dean, Health Sciences and Emergency Services, the successful candidate will be expected to act as an academic advisor to students in the program, participate as a leader and effective team member working in groups at the college, create a positive teaching and learning environment, using a variety of strategies and materials in the multi-modal delivery of courses. The incumbent should embody a commitment to student success and professional development and demonstrate capacity for leadership in a multi-cultural organization. In addition, the successful candidate must ensure currency and relevance of the teaching material and assessment techniques, must participate in recruitment and program promotion initiatives, and participate in professional development activities at Northern College relevant to his/her own needs.

What you will need to be considered:
The incumbent will possess the following qualifications:
- Master of Nursing and/or related qualification;
- 3 years current/recent experience (within the last three years) within either a Healthcare related field, or clinical experience with provision of direct patient care in a nursing environment;
- Member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario;
- Valid First Aid/ CPR Certification;
- Ability to provide proof of required immunizations; and
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
The incumbent may be required to provide a criminal reference check.
