noopener\">Miikana Consulting<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>to develop a series of training sessions designed to deepen staff and faculty members\u2019 understanding of Indigenous rights in Canada.\u00a0<\/p><p>Training sessions will be offered between September 2025 and April 2026, on select Wednesdays during one of our designated professional development time slots, either 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Details and links are shared via LEID\u2019s\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northerncollege.ca\/leid\/news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI), and students who engage in NSSI are at increased risk for poor academic and mental health outcomes. In this webinar, we will be joined by Dr. Chloe Hamza from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto to discuss NSSI in the post-secondary context. This webinar will focus on increasing knowledge and understanding of NSSI and navigating ways to talk with students who may be self-injuring. In addition, evidence-informed resources will be shared to help understand how to best support students who self-injure in post-secondary education settings.<\/p><p><strong>Dr. Chloe Hamza<\/strong> is an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Psychology and Human Development at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. She is the Director of the CARE Lab (Coping, Affect, and Resilience in Education), as well as a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Stress and Coping in Post-Secondary Contexts. Dr. Hamza utilizes a lifespan development perspective to study the onset and maintenance of mental health concerns among school-aged youth and young adults, and she has strong expertise in the area of non-suicidal self-injurious behaviors. She is currently the chair of the International Consortium on Self-Injury in Educational Settings (ICSES), a group of researchers and clinicians who develop and mobilize best-practice recommendations for supporting students who self-injure in educational contexts. As an instructor at OISE, she teaches graduate courses in mental health in the classroom and adolescent and emerging adult mental
