Program Description

This modular training program covers the basic knowledge and skills required to work competently as a Mineral Processing Operator. Students are introduced to the mining sector and receive a general overview of mill processes. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are prepared for an entry-level position in various milling operations
throughout the world.

 

Eligibility

  • Must be eligible to work in Canada i.e. Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, Naturalized Canadian Citizen or Protected Person (without conditions)
  • Resident of Ontario
  • A seat in this program is not guaranteed. Final selection of trainees subject to funding partner approval. Limited seats are available.

 

Pre-Requisites (may include but not be limited to):

  • Participants must have a Grade 10 or equivalent and must be able to read and write in the English language.
  • Participants may be required to participate in a Drug and Alcohol Testing.
  • Participants may be required to complete a Medical Assessment.
    Mine site-specific prerequisites and/or requirements may also apply. More details will be provided as available.

 

Delivery and Important Information

This program requires a partnership with mining operations that can provide access to mill process operations and support placement for students. Delivery is face-to-face with hands-on learning and practice in the mill environment.

Graduates fill entry-level roles working in mill process operations.
