Course: When Behaviour at Work Goes Wrong – It’s Funny Until it’s not funny anymore

Teaching Methods:

  • Live e-learning or in person
  • Students will learn via interactive learning (“learning by doing”). Students will be taught basic principles and will then apply those principles through practical exercises and instructor lead discussions.

Course Description:

  • This course will be geared towards frontline workers and will provide them with critical information on workplace harmful behaviours and tools to identify and deal with these behaviours.
  • With that, workplace dynamics are shifting and workplace challenges such as bullying, sexual harassment, racism and other forms of discrimination must be tackled.
  • A visible shift towards a healthier workplace culture requires acknowledging and modifying mindsets and behaviours both at the frontline and in leadership. This course will assist frontline workers in this difficult, yet necessary task.

Course Goals:

  • To provide participants with the tools necessary to enable them to better recognize, respond to and protect themselves against workplace harmful behaviours.
  • Participants will be provided with practical tools to engage in difficult conversations arising from workplace harmful behaviours, when safe and possible to do so.

 Learning Objectives:

  • Understanding the causes, outgrowth and barriers of conflict in the context of workplace harmful behaviours.
  • Explore the underlying principles of workplace conflict and workplace harmful behaviours.
  • Apply practical solutions and strategies to manage difficult conversations stemming from workplace harmful behaviours (when safe and possible to do so).
