Serge Gravel

I was born and raised in Smooth Rock Falls. I have had three distinct careers so far. I initially started doing cancer research while living in Montreal. I was part of a team that looked at treatment options for pancreatic cancer and was lucky enough to be part of 3 publications. After 5 years of this Northern Ontario was calling me back home. I decided to recycle myself as a stationary engineer and found employment here in Timmins for Kidd Creek. Unfortunately, in 2010 the Hwy 101 site closed, and I was left unemployed. With the volatility in the mining industry, I decided to take the plunge and complete my nursing degree. I was lucky to be able to attend Northern College for this. Once graduated I work for 3 years then while working full time started my masters degree for nurse practitioner primary care. Once I graduated, I worked in primary care and specialty care. I am currently employed with the East End Family Health Team. On my free time I enjoy fishing, hunting, archery and the outdoors in general.
