Dr. Kayode Arowolo

Dr. Kayode Arowolo is currently working as a Professor of Educational Development and Quality Assurance at Northern College in Timmins, Ontario, Canada, with College-wide responsibilities. He has been working with the College for over six years. His educational background is in computer science and education. He received a Ph.D. in Education with a focus on science education and instructional design from Memorial University, Canada, an M.Sc. in Science Education and a Higher Diploma in Computer Science both from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. He also obtained a B.Sc. (Ed.) degree in Technology Education from Ambrose Alli University, Nigeria. Prior to the doctoral program, Kayode was a high school teacher for 15 years, where he taught technology, mathematics and physics in Nigeria and South Africa.
Jamie Johnston

Jamie Johnston is the Dean of Technology, Trades, Apprenticeship, and Mining at Northern College, a role she began in August 2023. With over 25 years of experience in 7-12 education, Jamie has held various positions, including teacher, guidance counsellor, and administrator. She is a lifelong learner passionate about education and dedicated to collaborating with industry partners to foster growth in Northern Ontario.
Mélanie Dufresne

As the director of the Timmins campus since 2019, Mélanie Dufresne oversees the operations, growth, and strategic direction of the campus by providing educational and administrative leadership. The campus offers a wide range of services and programs, including postsecondary education and training, academic upgrading, employment and immigrations services, as well as various courses in continuing education and corporate training. She held the position of Manager of Postsecondary Programs from 2009 to 2019 with Boréal, overseeing more than 17 postsecondary and apprenticeship programs in the fields of health, humanities, trades, and business. Prior to joining the world of education, Mélanie worked five years as a Regional Communications Officer for the Ministry of Natural Resources. She is an active member of her community and is a very busy mother of two boys and stepdaughter. She sits on the board of the Timmins Chamber of Commerce as first Vice-President, as well as the Northeast Training Commission. Mélanie is fluent in French, English, Spanish, and has basic proficiency in German. She has worked and lived abroad in various countries including the Pacific Alliance (Chile, Peru, Mexico and Colombia), Germany and across Canada. Mélanie Dufresne is a graduate of Carleton University, holding a degree in International Business with a specialization in Marketing and a minor in German. She is passionate about postsecondary education and supporting students towards success.
Cathy Beauchamp

Cathy is the Pathways & Alternative Education Lead with District School Board Ontario North East. As part of her portfolio, she is the OYAP (Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program) recruiter for the North East Region.
