Dean Lessard, Senior Vice President, Academic at Northern College
Dean Lessard is a proud ‘Northerner’, both as a life-long resident of northern Ontario and as a long-standing employee of Northern College. Dean joined the college in October of 2013 and has held a variety of academic leadership roles, including Dean, School of Business, Community Services & the Learning Excellence and Innovation Department. In January of 2024, Dean was hired as Northern College’s Senior Vice President, Academic. Raised in a family of educators committed to life-long learning and appreciative of the transformative power of education, Dean’s own learning journey has seen him earn an undergraduate degree in History, a Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed.), a Master of Education degree (M.Ed.) in Curriculum Development/Leadership and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Prior to joining Northern College, Dean held a variety of leadership and classroom teaching roles in public education.
