Reporting to the Campus Manager, Haileybury the incumbent is responsible for delivering a program of assistive educational technology to students who are registered with Accessibility Services, working in collaboration with Learning Strategist and Assistive Devices Technologist at other campuses. What you will be doing:
  • Conduct technology assessments of students with learning disabilities by recommending trial equipment, software, and assistive devices, instructing students in the use of software in the context of academic studies including but not limited to: Kurzweil; TextHelp; Dragon; and organizational software such as Inspiration;
  • Providing support to students with learning disabilities; and
  • Provide administrative support services to Accessibility Services by conducting research, tracking and the collecting statistical data, and maintaining of an accurate inventory of materials, equipment and other resources available to students registered with accessibility services.

Northern College is seeking a qualified professional to teach a variety of courses in the program(s) of Diamond Drilling. The successful incumbent will create a positive teaching and learning environment, using a variety of strategies and materials in the multi-modal delivery of courses. They will be committed to student success, professional development and demonstrate capacity for leadership in a multi-cultural organization and ensure currency and relevance of the teaching material and assessment techniques. A Train the Trainer Certificate and previous teaching experience are an asset. What you will need to be considered:
  • Experience operating a diamond drill;
  • Experience in a surface and underground drilling environment;
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical issues;
  • Experience training/leading/supervising new employees;

  • U0652 Work Safely in a Surface Diamond Drilling Environment
  • U0653 Operate Hand and Power Tools
  • U0655 Operate Lifting Mechanism(s)

  • U0670 Perform General Lock Out / Tag out on Prime Movers and Other relations Equipment
  • U0657 Recover and Handle Core
  • U0673 Read and Interpret Layout(s)/Drill Hole Plan
  • U0660 Operate Snowmobile
  • U0662 Operate Portable Generator
  • U0656 Operate Portable Pumping Equipment
  • U0659/0658 Operate Track Vehicle & Operate Skidder
  • U0661 Operate ATV
  • U0654 Operate Chainsaw

  • Relevant training, and/or certifications;
  • 10 years of relevant experience;
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered; and
  • Teaching experience would be considered an asset.
