- Conduct technology assessments of students with learning disabilities by recommending trial equipment, software, and assistive devices, instructing students in the use of software in the context of academic studies including but not limited to: Kurzweil; TextHelp; Dragon; and organizational software such as Inspiration;
- Providing support to students with learning disabilities; and
- Provide administrative support services to Accessibility Services by conducting research, tracking and the collecting statistical data, and maintaining of an accurate inventory of materials, equipment and other resources available to students registered with accessibility services.
- Two-year diploma in Human Services preferred, may consider Business, Computer Technology or related/ relevant fields of study;
- Three years of experience working with adults in a post-secondary setting and adults with learning disabilities;
- Must have knowledge of learning strategies that can be used by people with disabilities in an educational setting;
- Must have worked in an environment that required strong computer skills and knowledge of assistive technology, both hardware and software, used by people with disabilities; and
- Learning Strategies and/or Assistive Technologist Certificates (640 hours).
