Northern College is seeking a Research Analyst in our Registrar’s Office & Institutional Research department. The successful candidate will possess strong time management skills and computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, database systems, research design, methods and statistical analysis. Experience with data visualization software (i.e. Tableau) and database software (i.e. Banner or IBM II and/or coding (i.e. SQL, Python) is considered an asset.

Reporting to the Registrar, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a wide range of Institutional Research activities that support the College’s strategic directions.

What you will be doing:

  • Retrieve and analyze relevant information from a wide variety of sources, both internal and external, assessing additional information needs and working closely with key contacts to identify solutions and produce accurate, reliable, timely, and user-friendly data/reports;
  • Analyze data and write reports for a wide range of college activities at the institutional level that will be used to support decision-making at the college; and
  • Assist in proposal writing, and provide research expertise for applied research, research ethics and animal care groups/committees for the College community.

What you will need to be considered:

  • Three-year diploma or degree in Statistics, Mathematics or Social Science with emphasis on Data Analysis or related/ relevant field;
  • Minimum three years experience in a research project development setting;
  • Extensive computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation software, and database systems; and
  • Strong, research design, methods and statistical analysis skills,
