Students examine the basic structure, physiology and functions of plants. Students learn soil properties, fertility and amendment concepts. Topics include soil fertilization practices, plant nutrition, soil testing, fertilizer application, amendments and tillage. Students work with producers to review soil testing procedures, perform soil sampling, review testing results and recommend soil amendments.
