Northern Training Division
Campus: Timmins

Our beginner to intermediate yoga classes are open to everyone regardless of fitness level or experience. Registration cost is for 10 classes that run every Wednesday (once a week for 10 weeks) from 4:45pm to 5:45pm.

Regular yoga practice and the relaxation techniques incorporated in yoga may lessen chronic pain, such as lower back pain, arthritis, headaches and carpal tunnel syndrome. It may also lower blood pressure and reduce insomnia.

Physical benefits can include:

  • increased flexibility
  • increased muscle strength and tone
  • improved respiration, energy and vitality
  • maintaining a balanced metabolism
  • weight reduction
  • cardio and circulatory health
  • improved athletic performance
  • protection from injury

Regular yoga practice can also promote mental clarity and calmness; increase body awareness; relieve chronic stress patterns; relax the mind; center attention; and sharpen concentration.

Yoga etiquette:
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your yoga class to get a space where you feel most comfortable.

Wear comfortable clothing, bring a water bottle, yoga mat (the gym does have extra mats available) and any other props you may want (blanket, small pillow, strap, block, etc.).
