Youth Job Connection

Program Length: 2 Weeks

If you’re a young person or student looking for a job, you can get help through the Youth Job Connection Program – regardless of your background or circumstances.

The free training, funded by Employment Ontario, are delivered both virtually and in person. For virtual delivery, laptops and access to Wi-Fi are required.

Courses are offered with Community Employment Services in Timmins, Kirkland Lake, and Temiskaming Shores.

 

Program Information

The Youth Job Connection program serves youth aged 15 to 29 who experience multiple and/or complex barriers to employment by providing more intensive supports beyond traditional job search and placement opportunities.

This program offers 60 hours of paid pre-employment training, throughout two weeks, to promote job-readiness, job matching and paid job placements, mentorship services, and education and work transitions supports.

Eligibility

  • Between 15 and 29 years old
  • Unemployed
  • Not attending full-time school or training
  • Must be a permanent resident or Canadian citizen

 

Summer Program Information

The Youth Job Connection Summer program provides summer, part-time and after-school job opportunities to high school students, aged 15 to 18, who are facing challenging life circumstances and may need support transitioning between school and work.

This program offers 20 hours of paid pre-employment training, throughout two weeks, to promote job-readiness, job matching and paid job placements, mentorship services, and education and work transitions supports.

Eligibility

  • Between 15 and 18 years old
  • Must be a permanent resident or Canadian citizen
  • A high school student planning to stay in or return to school, or move on to post-secondary education
  • Post-secondary education
