Northern College Builds International Education Network
Northern College is pleased to announce the signing of two Memorandums of Understanding with post-secondary institutions in Latin America and the Middle East, which will pave the way for diverse transnational education programming and activities, expanding Northern College’s global footprint.
Northern College has now signed two memorandums which will create a framework of resource, curriculum and expertise sharing with post-secondary institutions in Egypt and Dominican Republic.
“This is an incredible opportunity for Northern College,” stated Mitch Dumas, President & CEO at Northern. “We live in an increasingly connected world, where we can share information and ideas instantly; these agreements allow us to collaborate across continents, to learn from each other, share experiences and support student and faculty mobility globally.”
The Memorandums include Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development in Egypt, and Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) in Dominican Republic.
“At PUCMM, we believe that meaningful international partnerships are essential to advancing academic excellence and fostering globally engaged leaders,” stated Dr. Jonathan Palatz, Director of International Relations and Strategic Alliances at PUCMM. “Our collaboration with Northern reflects a shared commitment to innovation, student mobility, and the development of knowledge that transcends borders.”
“Through this MOU, we strengthen our collective capacity to prepare students to contribute thoughtfully and responsibly to their communities and to the global society,” added Dr. Palatz.
This approach to international resource sharing is a testament to the universal language of education and curriculum development, allowing institutions like Northern to leverage this connective tissue to break down barriers to education for students at each institution.
“Cultivating international partnerships comes at the heart of Heliopolis University’s mission to expand its message of the sustainable development of our community by unfolding the potential of the individual,” mentioned Dr. Ahmed Elshazly, Heliopolis University Vice President for Community Development & Partnerships.
“Internationalization is a continuous and progressing goal for us; where we provide our community of students, staff and partners the opportunity to expand their knowledge for study, research and cultural purposes,” added Dr. Elshazly. “We continue to encourage our community to explore global perspectives to sustainable development, while welcoming diverse cultures to Heliopolis University campus; as we are continuously committed to growing our network of collaborations across the globe.”
Northern College is proud to foster the kinds of global relationships which directly benefit students, inform program offerings, and allow for a collaboration of perspective and experience for all involved.
“Building relationships and cultivating partnerships with institutions that share the same goals is a cornerstone of Northern’s approach to modern, borderless education,” stated Dr. Ahmed Baghdady, Executive Director, Global Engagement at Northern. “This collaborative mindset can only serve to benefit students and faculty at each of our institutions and, in turn, the industries those students go on to shape after graduation in the nations they call home.”
