Veterinary Sciences

Our Veterinary Sciences Centre at the Haileybury Campus is a state-of-the-art facility that features up-to-date labs and equipment, a surgery suite, animal grooming area, an underwater treadmill and animal living facilities.

Our Veterinary Sciences programs are located on Northern College’s beautiful Haileybury Campus. The well-appointed residence building on campus is a 2-minute walk from the Veterinary Sciences Centre. Our Centre features real cats, dogs, and other animals living on-site, up-to-date labs and equipment, a surgery suite, animal grooming area, an underwater treadmill and animal living facilities, as well as an outdoor exercise area. This means that we can offer you more access to real animals to care for and learn with than any other College in Ontario, giving you a unique edge over other graduates. Our programs are designed to give you an extensive amount of practice and real world experience working with domestic, laboratory and farm animals.

We regularly receive animals from shelters and animal control facilities. Our professional staff and students work together to ensure these animals are nursed back to health, vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and are physically, socially, and mentally prepared to find their forever homes.

Our programming is layered to allow students to receive multiple qualifications, including specialized care in wild animals and companion animals, which you can only get at Northern College. You will not find such a strong and unique combination of expert-level training elsewhere!
