Thank You for Joining Us at the Shaputuan Grand Opening
Good Morning, Everyone,
Northern College’s Indigenous Services & Initiatives department was proud to host the grand opening of the Shaputuan on Friday, August 22, 2025, marking the beginning of the 2025/26 academic year. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to you for participating in this meaningful cultural gathering.
Staff and Students enjoyed Bannock on a stick, both raisin and plain Bannock, and scone dogs (Indigenous-style pogo), while stories were shared around the fire. Your presence helped make the event a true success. In the spirit of community, leftover food was distributed to local individuals experiencing homelessness.
We’re excited to continue celebrating Indigenous culture throughout the year, including our Annual Indigenous Cultural Awareness Week, taking place from September 8-12, 2025. We hope to see you there.
And congratulations to Mark Rogers, winner of our event draw!
Chi-Meegwetch! – thank you again for your support and participation.
Warm regards,
Northern College Indigenous Services & Initiatives department
