Veterinary Sciences Centre

At Northern College, our Veterinary Sciences programs provide students with extensive hands-on experience working with a wide range of species—from companion animals to exotics and large animals—preparing them for a variety of roles in veterinary care.

Learning takes place in our purpose-built Veterinary Sciences Centre, a facility designed to support immersive, career-focused education. Among its specialized spaces is a newly developed necropsy suite that enhances student learning in anatomy, pathology, and post-mortem examination techniques.

Through partnerships with local shelters and animal services, students also gain experience providing care to animals in need. They perform nursing procedures, administer vaccinations, assist with spay/neuter surgeries, and support rehabilitation—ensuring each animal is healthy, well-socialized, and ready for adoption.

With frequent, meaningful access to animals throughout their studies, our students graduate with the confidence, skills, and practical experience needed to thrive in a wide range of animal care settings.
