Northern College’s International Student Withdrawal and Refund Procedures were developed as per the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU), and withdrawals are subject to stringent conditions. Northern College is a member of the ‘no transfer protocol’ consortium.
Students considering a withdrawal are strongly encouraged to meet with a member of our student advising team.

Study Permit Refusal – Refund Procedure
If your study permit application is refused, you may apply for a refund (subject to a $500 fee). To qualify for the refund, please follow these steps.

Voluntary Withdrawal – Refund Procedure
International students opting for voluntary withdrawal, for reasons other than visa refusal, may be eligible for a partial refund. Please note that voluntary withdrawals are subject to an $1860 CDN administrative and exit fee deduction (no exceptions).

The deadline to defer intake is the first day of the semester. See the Academic Calendar for all important dates.
Provided seats are still available for your program of choice in the next available intake or for any alternative programs. Deferral requests will be processed on a First Come, first serve basis. Deferral requests after this deadline will be assessed case by case and there is no guarantee that the request will be approved.
