Northern College is committed to fostering a healthy, safe, and inclusive campus environment. To support the well-being of our college community and comply with provincial legislation, all College-owned or leased property, including buildings, grounds, parking areas, residences, and College vehicles, is smoke-free and vape-free.

This includes the use of tobacco, vaping products, and recreational cannabis.

Northern College recognizes that tobacco (Sema) is a sacred medicine to Indigenous Peoples and respects the traditional use of tobacco and other sacred medicines, including sage, sweetgrass, and cedar, for cultural, ceremonial, and spiritual purposes, as outlined in the Smudging and Pipe Ceremonies Administrative Procedure.
