Learning Objectives          

Participants will learn:

  1. the causes of and reasons for conflict
  2. the manager/supervisor’s role in managing conflict and proactively moving difficult situations forward
  3. steps to managing and dealing with people in conflict
  4. how to create an effective working environment (win-win situation)
  5. conflict resolution in practice
  6. how to manage conflict and move difficult situations forward (i.e. emotion vs. objectivity, listening and responding with empathy, uncovering hidden agendas, delivering difficult messages)

Course Benefits

  1. gain a greater and more holistic understanding of conflict
  2. increase confidence and competence in managing conflict and difficult conversations
  3. appreciate the pros and cons of conflict
  4. learn various strategies to manage different scenarios of conflict (i.e. difficult people, factors that to conflict difficulty, how to let go of conflict)
