Important Notes:

  • Pre-Existing Conditions: There is a 90-day stability period. Any sickness, injury, or medical condition that was not stable in the 90 days prior to the effective date of the policy will not be covered.
  • Family Members: Family members are not covered under the student health plan. Students with families may purchase additional health insurance for their immediate family members residing in Canada. The plan for family members is identical to the student plan, but the premium may be higher.
  • Emergency Medical Assistance: Using emergency services at the hospital for non-emergency or routine health issues may result in your claim being denied Should this happen, you will be solely responsible for paying the hospital, which may be very expensive. In the case of a medical emergency where you do require emergency care at the hospital, it is the student’s responsibility to ensure that StudyInsured Assistance is contacted by them or someone on their behalf within 48 hours regarding any emergency medical assistance. If StudyInsured Assistance is not contacted within 48 hours, benefits under this policy may be limited. They can be contacted by emailing studentteam@studyinsured.com or by calling 1-855-649-4182 (toll-free).
