Surface Miner Common Core
Distance: Monday, August 18
This program covers the 3 mandatory common core modules required for anyone wanting to work in a surface mine environment.
An in-depth analysis and discussion of these modules will be conducted, and a certificate will be awarded to successful participants upon completion of the program.
Ozone Depletion Prevention
Timmins: Wednesday, September 10
The Ozone Depletion Prevention course is a one-day environmental awareness program that teaches the proper handling of CFC/HCFC/HFC.
Participants who attend this course and successfully achieve a mark of 75%, or higher on the exam, will receive certification in the form of an Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) card issued by The Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI).
Firearm Safety & Hunter Education
Various dates for Timmins, Kirkland Lake, and Haileybury
New hunters of all ages must take Hunter Education training and pass an exam before they can purchase their first hunting license. The 3-day combined Firearm Safety & Hunter Education course will assist participants to become a knowledgeable and responsible hunter. The Firearm Safety only is available as a two-day course.
Advanced Supervisory Management
Timmins: Wednesday, September 17 to Thursday, September 18
This in-person course is great for supervisors, managers, or other organizational leaders at any career level. Advanced Supervisory Management will teach leading-edge management practices that are effective and productive.
Train the Trainer
Distance: Monday, October 6 to Tuesday, October 7
This course is delivered virtually via ZOOM.
Train the Trainer is a trainer/instructor development course designed to meet the minimum requirements set by the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development of Ontario for their common core training programs. Train the Trainer is essential for individuals who engage in training and instructing others, regardless of business type or industry.
Intro to Supervisory Management

Introduction to Supervisory Management will help you transition from being a team member into a role of added responsibility. It will give you the skills needed to prepare for and make the transition into management a positive experience.
Mental Health First Aid
Distance: Wednesday, October 22, 2025, to Thursday, October 23, 2025
This course is offered in Person.
MHFA Basic is intended for adults interacting with adults (18 years and older). This course focuses on the four most common mental health disorders. Participants who take this course are well prepared to interact with confidence and competence about mental health with loved ones, friends, the general public, and workplaces.
Phlebotomy
Various dates for Timmins
The Phlebotomy course teaches participants how to draw blood and obtain specimens promptly, efficiently, and safely from patients. Participants will learn how to use the vacutainer system, prepare the patient, dispose of contaminated supplies and much more. Certificates will be issued to participants who attend all instructional hours and successfully complete two venipuncture’s and one capillary draw.
Standard First Aid & CPR/AED
Various dates for Timmins, Kirkland Lake, and Haileybury
Our two-day in-class course for Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Adult, Child, Infant (Formerly Level C) with optional BLS (Basic Life Support) component for Health Care Providers (formerly HCP) provides participants with the knowledge needed to manage choking, breathing and heart-related emergencies such as heart attack, stroke and cardiac arrest.
We also offer recertification courses.
Microsoft Office Suite
Courses can be completed in less than a day while giving you in-depth and robust training and practice in the many functions of each Microsoft Office software program. Courses available include Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Teams, SharePoint, and Planner.
