Student Voices
“For me, self-identifying was about reclaiming my voice. I’m proud of my roots, and I want to show others that it’s okay to take up space as an Indigenous person in college. We belong here.”
— Ariana Kioke-Budd, Attawapiskat First Nation Affiliation, Social Service Worker Student
“Self-identifying isn’t just about checking a box. It’s about honouring where you come from and making sure the next generation sees us in these spaces too. We deserve to be heard.”
— Shem Mattinas, Moose Cree First Nation, Social Service Worker Student
