International Student Entrance Scholarships
New international students from all over the world in select programs starting in Fall 2025 or Winter 2026 intake at Northern College may be eligible to apply for a scholarship.
Scholarship Value: $2,000 CAD per recipient

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the scholarship, international students must meet the following requirements:
1. Intake and Region:
- To a new international student starting in the Fall 2025 or Winter 2026 Intake at Northern College.
- International applicants of Northern College from all over the world are eligible to apply if they meet all the criteria outlined in the International Student Scholarships Information Package (PDF, 347 KB).
2. Programs
- 65 scholarships will be awarded to the eligible applicants admitted to one of the college’s eligible Engineering, Technology, or Trades programs (ETT programs).
- 50 scholarships will be awarded to the eligible applicants who applied to non-ETT programs.

3. Academic Performance and English Proficiency
- Maintain a minimum academic average of 65% in senior high school (for certificate/diploma program) or in post-secondary education (for Post-Graduate Certificate program applicants).

Scholarships will be rescinded if:
- Any application documents are found to be fraudulent.
- The students do not pay their first-year full tuition and ancillary fees by the start of the semester.
- Students do not enroll at Northern College
International students paying domestic tuition fees (e.g., Permanent Residents or dependents of closed work permit holders) are not eligible for this scholarship. is aligns with the Tuition and Ancillary Fees Reporting Operating Procedure (PDF, 463 KB).
Applications
1) Eligible applications can be submitted to international@northern.on.ca with the subject format: “International Scholarship-Intake-Student Name-Student ID”.
2) Applicants may submit their completed Scholarship Application Form (PDF, 276 KB) as early as when they apply for admission to Northern but they must adhere to the scholarship application deadlines for the two intakes:
- Fall 2025 intake: August 31st, 2025
- Winter 2026 intake: December 31st,2025
The final result will be communicated to the applicant once the assessment is completed.

Awarding
Scholarships will be automatically applied to eligible students’ Northern College accounts after day 10 of their second semester, provided the following conditions are met:
1) Academic Standing:
- Maintain good academic standing with no course failures.
- No academic integrity violations
2) Financial Standing
- Have no outstanding fees owed to the college.
3) Compliance
- Adhere to all college policies and procedures, as well as Canadian legal regulations, with no violations on record.
