Student Services
Student Services is where you enrol and register for courses, process tuition and other fee payments, complete any required forms, and navigate the academic requirements of your program or any other aspects of your life as a student with us.
Advisors
Advising Services are designed to help you navigate all the services and supports available to you as a student at Northern. Whether you are looking for support in your academic success, looking to engage in student life activities, or need guidance to make your time as a student at Northern as fulfilling as possible, our Student Advisors are available for one-on-one or group support in a safe, accepting, and confidential environment.
Join the Academic Success team at our Computer Bootcamp on August 31 at 1 p.m. to learn how to use the Blackboard learning platform and learn email etiquette with your student email. This event is offered virtually or in person at the Timmins Campus in Room F052.

Accessibility Services
Accessibility Services works with students with disabilities to provide learning strategies, accommodations, assistive technology, study spaces and other resources to help you succeed in your studies.
If you are registered with Accessibility Services, we encourage you to attend our Post-Secondary 101 Orientation which offered before the Fall semester to help you navigate the tools and services at Northern College that are available to you.

Financial Assistance
Our Financial Aid Officers are here to help you with student loan programs like OSAP, external bursary applications, our own internal Scholarships, Bursaries, & Awards, and other financial matters to help you fund your education.
Housing & Residence
For students who need help on housing accommodation, we offer support with off-campus housing options and have on-campus residences at our Timmins Campus & Haileybury Campus.
Employment Services
Whether you’re looking for a job, changing careers, or returning to school, our Community Employment Services offers a wide range of resources which can help you reach your goals such as job search assistance, job matching and placement, job retention support and follow-ups.
Your Health & Wellbeing as a student
Health & Wellness
We know that as a student you will need both physical and mental health services. Our health and wellness services are available for all students to secure support at the college and in the community.
Student Health Benefits
Visit the WeSpeak Student or Morcare website to view your account online, access your benefits, submit claims, opt-out and more.
Domestic Students: WeSpeak Student (Opt-Out Deadline: September 30, 2023)
International Students: Morcare
Opting-Out: All full-time registered students are automatically enrolled. To opt-out of benefits, you can do so online as long as you have coverage by another provider.
Campus Safety
Your safety on-campus and as a student is important. Documents such as Emergency Procedures, Sexual Assault & Violence Policy, Respectful College Policy, and other Academic Policies are designed to keep you safe.
Mental Health
If you are facing challenges with your mental health, our Mental Health Advisor offers services and support to navigate referrals and strategies to help and ensure you are never alone with these stressors.
Fitness & Athletics
Keeping your body active is important to your academic success. Each of our campuses is equipped with exercise rooms, a gymnasium, and athletic programming that are free for students.
Nutrition & Cafeterias
Each of our campuses are equipped with common areas and cafeterias to meet with classmates to eat. The Timmins Campus Chartwell Cafeteria offers fresh and ready-made meals and meal plans.
